How BIM helps homeowners
For a single house, BIM is mostly about three things: seeing it early, ordering correctly, and not breaking work twice.
4 min read

Before construction
- Walk through your house on screen and settle layout decisions as a family.
- Check daylight, ventilation, privacy and furniture fit room by room.
- Compare elevation and material options on the same geometry.
During documentation
- Receive a drawing set where plans, sections and schedules agree.
- Get electrical and plumbing routes fixed before slab casting.
- Get quantities you can use to compare contractor quotes fairly.
During construction
- Fewer 'break it and redo it' instructions on site.
- A clear record when you change your mind, so the change reaches every trade.
- Material ordering closer to actual requirement.
What it does not do
BIM does not replace a good contractor, and it does not remove the need to make decisions. It removes the guessing around them.
Have a project question?
Send your drawings or plot details and we will tell you plainly what BIM would change for your project.
