Renovating or adding a floor? Model the existing building first

Extensions fail on assumptions about what is already there. A measured model removes most of that risk.

Old buildings rarely match their drawings

Column positions shift, slab levels differ, and beams sit where nobody expected. If you design an extension on the original 2D print, the new structure meets a building that no longer matches it.

What we model for a renovation

  • Existing structure from measured survey data
  • Actual floor levels, beam depths and column grid
  • Existing services routes where they are visible or documented
  • New work modelled against the existing, with clashes checked

The payoff

You get a realistic view of what can be added, where the new columns must land, and what strengthening is needed — before demolition starts.
